About the stadium

Eintracht-Stadion on Hamburger Straße opened on June 17, 1923 with a friendly against 1. FC Nürnberg. The City of Braunschweig has owned it since 1981; until 2008 it was called Städtisches Stadion an der Hamburger Straße. Successive improvements included the roofed north stand in 2009–2010 and the redevelopment of the main stand in 2011–2013. The operator lists a football capacity of 23,325. An athletics track forms part of the multipurpose venue. The photograph shows the stadium during the European Athletics Team Championships in June 2014.
