The official Supercopa de España has been organised by the RFEF since 1982. It was normally decided over two legs through 2017, changed to a single neutral match in 2018 and has been a four-team tournament with two semi-finals and a final since 2020. The trophy was awarded automatically to the double winners in 1984 and 1989; no edition was played in 1986 or 1987. Historical predecessors are kept as separate title lines in FODB.
