International Football Cup

The International Football Cup, also known as the Rappan Cup, was a European club competition held from 1961/62 to 1966/67. It gave clubs without a place in the existing European competitions an opportunity to play internationally while also providing matches for football pools during the summer break. A group stage was followed by knockout rounds and a final, so each of its six editions produced one overall champion. From 1967 the competition continued as a group-only Intertoto tournament without an overall winner; FODB records the UEFA Intertoto Cup introduced in 1995 separately.
