The KNVB Cup is the principal national cup competition in Dutch men’s football. The first edition began in 1897–98 but was abandoned; the first winner was decided in 1898–99. Historical names and sponsorship eras are displayed by season. Reserve and amateur teams won several early editions; each honour is credited to the overall club. The current silver trophy, nicknamed the “Pine Cone” because of its shape, was donated by De Zwaluwen in 1946 and first presented to Wageningen in 1948. It received a one-off gold finish for the 100th final in 2017–18.
