Cups and Europe
First Portuguese Cup triumph
Boavista beat Benfica 2–1 in the Taça de Portugal final.
At Lisbon's former Estádio José Alvalade, the club's first national cup begins its most successful cup era.
Portuguese Cup retained
Boavista beat Vitória Guimarães 2–1 in the final and retain the Taça de Portugal.
The final takes place at Porto's Estádio das Antas. Boavista also finish runners up in the league that season.
Third cup after a replay
Boavista win the Portuguese Cup final replay against Sporting 1–0.
The first final ends 1–1, so a replay at the Estádio Nacional settles the 1978/79 Taça de Portugal.
First Super Cup
Boavista win 2–1 at FC Porto and claim their first Portuguese Super Cup.

A 2–2 draw against FC Porto secures Boavista the 1992 Super Cup.
Boavista had won the first leg 2–1 at the Estádio das Antas. In the return at the former Bessa, they recover from 0–2 down and prevail 4–3 on aggregate.
Fifth Taça de Portugal triumph
Boavista beat Benfica 3–2 in the final.

Super Cup against Porto
A 2–0 home win over FC Porto puts Boavista on course for the Super Cup.
Boavista lose the return 0–1 but win the 1997 Super Cup 2–1 on aggregate, their third including the unofficial 1979 edition.
